Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Dippy Goog.

What is Dippy Goog?

Dippy Goog is a meal planning and grocery shopping app for families. You pick your meals for the week, and it generates an aisle-sorted shopping list automatically. It includes AI-powered meal suggestions, recipe import from any URL (including TikTok), and smart ingredient matching.

Is Dippy Goog free to try?

Yes. You get a free 14-day trial with 30 Googs (AI credits) — no credit card needed. That's enough to properly test all the AI features like Ask Dippy, leftover suggestions, and the Week Stretcher.

What are Googs?

Googs are Dippy's AI credits. Each time you ask Dippy for meal suggestions, leftover ideas, or week stretcher tips, it costs 1 Goog. You get 30 Googs per month with a subscription. You can also buy top-up cartons (40 for $2.99 or 90 for $5.99) that never expire.

How much does Dippy Goog cost?

After your free trial, subscriptions are $3.99/month or $29.99/year (that's over 35% off). Each subscription gives you 30 Googs per month. If you need more, you can buy top-up cartons that don't expire.

Can I share my shopping list with my family?

Yes. Generate a share link and send it to anyone — they can add items and errands to your list in real time with no sign-up needed. There's also a separate 'Send someone shopping' link that shows your full list with product photos and quantities.

Can I import recipes from websites?

Yes. Paste a recipe URL from Taste.com.au, Coles, Woolworths, BBC Good Food, RecipeTinEats, or most recipe websites. Dippy scrapes the recipe and matches ingredients to your bank. It even works with TikTok recipe videos if the creator has written the ingredients in the caption.

Is Dippy Goog good for ADHD?

Yes. Dippy Goog was specifically designed with ADHD brains in mind. Everything is within 1-2 taps, there are no deep menus or settings rabbit holes, and you can undo if you delete something by accident. The Surprise Me feature picks meals for you when decision fatigue hits.

How does Ask Dippy work?

Tell Dippy what ingredient is on special or what's in the fridge, and she'll suggest complete dinner, lunch, or use-it-up ideas tailored to your family's flavour preferences and cooking style. She even tells you what extra ingredients you'll need to buy.

What is the Week Stretcher?

The Week Stretcher looks at your planned meals for the week and finds ways to stretch them further — cook extra of one thing to use in another meal, or add ingredients you already have to create bonus dishes. It helps reduce waste and get more meals out of what you're already buying.

What about leftover suggestions?

When you open a recipe, Dippy can suggest ideas for what to do with the leftovers — turning last night's roast into tomorrow's toasties, pie filling, or loaded potatoes. She even suggests scrappy ideas like 'grab a packet muffin mix and fold it through.'

Does Dippy Goog work on my phone?

Yes. Dippy Goog is a progressive web app that works on any phone, tablet, or computer. Plan on your laptop at home, then shop from your phone at the supermarket. Same account, everything syncs in real time. You can install it to your home screen for an app-like experience.

Can Dippy handle dietary requirements?

Yes. You can set household dietary needs like gluten free, dairy free, nut free, egg free, vegetarian, vegan, keto, or low carb. Dippy adapts all AI suggestions to match — either strictly or mixed in.

Can I set kitchen equipment preferences?

Yes. Tell Dippy if you use a slow cooker, air fryer, Thermomix, pressure cooker, BBQ, pie maker, or other equipment. She'll work those into her suggestions — so if you love your slow cooker, she'll suggest slow cooker meals.

Is Dippy Goog Australian?

Yes. Dippy Goog is made in Tasmania, Australia. The ingredient bank is set up for Australian supermarkets (Woolworths, Coles, Aldi) with aisle sorting that matches how Australian shops are laid out.

What is Surprise Me?

Surprise Me is for when you can't decide what to cook. Tap it and Dippy picks meals from your recipe bank — weighted so you don't get the same things every week. It considers what you've cooked recently and picks a good mix.

How does the aisle-sorted shopping list work?

When you select recipes for the week, Dippy combines all the ingredients into one shopping list, grouped by supermarket aisle — fruit and veg, dairy, frozen, pantry, etc. No more zigzagging around the shop. It even flags staples you're running low on.
